During the pre and postnatal yoga intensive, you will learn how to lead women who are pregnant or just recently gave birth through a safe and effective yoga asana class.
Tentative Schedule:
Friday 6-9PM
Opening Circle
Fundamentals of a prenatal practice
ethical guidelines to create a sacred and safe space when working with pregnancy
Key elements for cultivating community within class
Saturday 9am-6pm:
Practical exploration of the Anatomical and Physiological progression through the 3 trimesters of pregnancy and how yoga can benefit and support
Anatomy and physiology of the female pelvis
Common Conditions during pregnancy and how yoga can support
Asana Lab on key adaptations and modifications for pregnancy
Sunday 9am-4pm:
Anatomy and Physiology of Labor and Delivery
Asana Lab on yoga techniques for labor and delivery
Discussion on a yogic approach for the postnatal period
Asana Lab for a postnatal practice
Business of developing prenatal skills
*there will be many sharing circles and group discussion throughout the weekend.
Whether you are an expectant mother or somebody passionate about supporting healthy and joyful pregnancy this weekend cannot be missed. Join us for a weekend intensive training exploring prenatal yoga, yoga for labor and delivery, and post natal yoga. We will explore the anatomy of the female pelvis, the physiology of birth, and how yoga can support common conditions associated with pregnancy.
Community is an invaluable part of prenatal classes and this weekend will explore many tools to create a sacred space and cultivate community. We will also look at the business to building prenatal programming so it is sustainable and valuable to your community.
Lindy, M.A., E-RYT 500, C-IAYTI has over 15 years experience teaching yoga, training teachers, and developing community. She is passionate about empowering women and their partners during pregnancy and beyond.
Shirley, R.N., RYT200 is a retired Prenatal nurse with over 30 years experience working with expectant mothers and now teaches prenatal yoga throughout the Austin area.
Lindy and Shirley have over 200 combined hours of training in prenatal yoga and have had a wonderful time preparing this weekend's content.
